John 7b Jesus has Authority & Speaks Plainly
Pastor Nelson
John 7:14-31

Description
OH my! I was so busy last Sunday I didn't even get the sermon posted. But what happened, none of you called. So almost a week late here is the sermon for 11/25/2018. I wonder, is there anyone out there listening? John 7:14-31 this is a good lesson on the authority of Jesus who speaks not for Himself but for the Father. Confronting those in the temple as to what is the will of God, Jesus once again raises the ire of the religious leaders. He tells them to their face that they do not know God or follow his directives. In the midst of all this confrontation some believe, others are confused or simply turn away. Several rabbit trails are taken in this sermon which I think you will find interesting and challenging. 41min
John 7c Evangelical Christians Do You Know What the Bible Says

John 7:32-39

Description
John 7:32-39 Today is going to be a very intense day. In addition to covering the usual Scriptures passages, I'm going to relay some statistical data that has recently been collected about Christians today. I pray God will give you ears to hear and understand God's Truth. Some things may be said that are upsetting, but my Christian brothers and sisters you need to know what is happening with "Evangelical Christians" in America today. Things have not really changed since Bible times to our present day. Man has always wanted to "conform God" to his own thoughts & will, and to man's own image. But that is not the way it works! Jesus came to give us the TRUTH of what God demands. Can you hear it? It really isn't all that hard. He wants a relationship with you on HIS TERMS. But few are they that hear and obey what God wants. Bible truths are simple and straightforward, but many times we want to change what God has said. I pray that this message will cause you to think seriously about your own walk, and those around you. 45min

John 8 & Luke 1

Description
John 8, Luke 1:39-56, Luke 2:1-20 Today we have multiple scriptures we're going to. First of all we are in our 52nd week Bible verse, and it is James 1:2-4 which talks about the trials you will go through. Then because we are only two days away from Christmas we will finish up our study about the Advent wreath and it's five candles. The Scriptures & history tell us prophecies were fulfilled when God came down from heaven to earth in the form of a human baby. This seems mind-boggling, so I'm going to elaborate on a quote and read one directly. Next we will further explain the fourth (the Peace candle) and fifth Advent candle (the Christ candle). Then we turn to Luke chapter 1 and chapter 2 to see how this whole event of Jesus's birth came about. Lastly as we skip back to John chapter 8 and the woman caught in adultery we see how Jesus is truly a Savior, compassionate, the light of the world, and the coming King who will judge all unrighteousness. 43min

Description
John 8:1-32 Here we are the last Sunday of 2018. My how the year has flown by. I know some of you have read the Bible through cover to cover this year, congratulations! Others have a hope for doing better next year. In our body-life talk we addressed the importance of reading your Bible every day, various translations of the Bible, having a Bible you like, and how we as a congregation we could read through the New Testament together during 2019. I handed out a reading plan (like last year's) and during our body-life this next year we will be discussing what the Holy Spirit taught YOU in reading your 5 New Testament Scriptures each week. This type of round robin discussion is always profitable, as the Holy Spirit is working in and with all believers who are seeking God's truth; and we can learn from each other. Now, concerning today's sermon, you will be learning about the witnesses to the fact that Jesus is the Messiah, God in the flesh come to save us. The theme about staying in the Word of God will be addressed multiple times in various places. 43min
8c Truth - In My Word
Pastor Nelson
John 8:31-59

Description
John 8:31-5 In today's lesson we see several major truths. (1) If you "abide in" God's Word only then are you a true disciple. If you are not, studying the Word of God, how will you ever learn what God's truths are, and grow in His grace and knowledge and be all that God wants you to be. (2) Jesus is making a very clear argument that He is the Son of God, the Christ, the Messiah. (3) Everyone is either following their father the devil, or their Father the Living One and only True God. Jesus did not beat around the bush when he told the Pharisees, who were trying to kill him, that they were of their father the devil. We must realize that even today our culture is divided; some trying to follow the truth of the Bible, and others following the lies of the devil. Realizing that only 10% of our population has a Biblical worldview, and less than 4% of millennial's have a Biblical worldview (as discussed in body life). This spiritual warfare will continue until Jesus reigns supreme upon His return. Do you know your Bible well enough to be a well-equipped faithful soldier for the truth that has been revealed through Jesus Christ of Nazareth? 48min
John 9a Man Born Blind Sees the Light (part1)

John 9:1-25

Description
John 9:1-25 This event has a lot of lessons for us to take in. The blindness of all mankind needs to somehow be overcome. We all reside in spiritual darkness until Christ comes into our lives. It is interesting when fate and faith come crashing in together. Believing the promises of Jesus and acting on them is essential. Can you comprehend how Hurting and Problems can be preparation for healing? The focus should not be on my personal creature comforts, but on the exultation of our Creator God. I'm sorry I could not get through this entire chapter in one sermon; really wanted to the story is so good. But we will have to finish this up next week. 46min.
John 9b The Blind Judges
Pastor Nelson
John 9:24-41

Description
John 9:24-41 As we have been studying the gospel of John, Jesus is now on His sixth miracle proving that He is deity and the Messiah. We left the healed blind man before the Pharisees last week for a second time. Now it is time for this man to teach the Pharisees some biblical truths about Jesus. It is very hard to get through to prideful, arrogant, stubborn, complacent, and self-satisfied blind sophisticates. But a real truth comes through in verse 39 concerning judgment and condemnation of those with closed hearts and minds. How can the Bible say Jesus came to save the world and not condemn it, and yet at the same time Jesus said he has come into the world to judge it. You will find that answer in this lesson. This whole lesson has to do with coming into the light of Jesus with open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart. 51min

John1:15-18

Description
John1:15-18 Today we are going to talk about how the invisible became visible. How John the Baptist starts clearing the way for Jesus, and how the Holy Spirit starts to become a big part of this whole process. You may be wondering why there was a school shooting again this last week, I make a few comments about what the real problem is (a total lack of understanding of who God is & what evil is in the minds of young people). How can people even know what evil does when they don't understand who Jesus is? It is basic, but we need to address what it means to be born again & what proof we have that we are new creations in Christ Jesus. 43min

Information from Josh McDowell's Discover The Evidence Meeting December 5-6, 2013. This does tie into why Jesus was so upset with the Pharisees & Scribes (Lawyers) in Luke 11:37-54 (which will be covered in more detail next week). Imagine the excitement as manuscript experts peel back layers of ancient writings beneath Egyptian burial artifacts discovering early Christian texts & more! The proof of the Bible text once again confirmed! If the ancient writers (Homer, Herodotus, Sophocles, Plato, Caesar & more) are confirmed even MORE are the words of the New Testament! A 4 "foot" tall stack of documents compared to a 2.5 "MILE" high stack for the Bible! Listen to this new discovery that once again proves the WORD of God is true and trustworthy! 41min

Jude 1-8 Oh Boy what a day! My beloved, you need to understand NOTHING stands between the TRUTH that God is teaching in His Word, and what stands between our lessons for today and what is is going on in this world today. It may seem that the evils of this world are in control, but God's timing and control is always supreme! I wanted to cover this whole Epistle of Jude today in one shot, but it was not in God's plan. Praise God that at 7am this morning my mother went home to Jesus! It is good to know that her days of suffering are now ended and that she is at last at home in the presents of Jesus. A new body, an new mind, a new eternity! But here we are are on earth with fleshly desires, false hopes, & false teachings & those who would teach another Gospel. Today's teaching is hard - but from God Himself, I pray you will hear and consider! 42min

Jude ver 7-24 This week we are concentrating on several major things. First of all, this is the start of a new year, did you read your Bible through last year? I have handed out our annual read through the Bible in a year data sheet. But for those of you that don't like to read so much I have also put together a read the New Testament in a year sheet. I pray you will establish a plan and "do it this year". You also received list of 18 identifiers of what an "apostate" is & does. For this next year it is especially important for you to be able to recognize these people so you don't get involved in false teaching of God's Word. As we finish up this book of Jude we need to remember God's word is always true and that there is judgment coming for the false teachers and prophets. But what a beautiful benediction at the end. 44min

EASTER SUNDAY April 12, 2020 Well, it has been a wild month with the corona 19 virus. We are all learning all types of new technology and stress relievers, while being separated. But this Sunday was our first ever 16 people joined together visually and verbally for a grand celebration of Christ's resurrection. Crazy stuff! More to the point, the message for today is centered on Luke chapter 12, and Jesus teaching us about what we really need to know concerning this troubled world that we live in. We are not the only folks who have been put to the test over the years. But we must remember that God's word is "eternally true" and there are better things to come for those who know him as Savior and Lord.. I pray today's message will bless you, and make you think about what is really important in this life. Please remember that Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning in the end, the first and the last AND IN JESUS we will have peace, fulfillment, and happiness forever. 44min

Noting that Matt 6:31-34 says the same thing as Luke about seeking the Kingdom of God first & that God is going to give us all that we need (here & in heaven) we need to check our motives by looking at our friends, time, & cash flow.
